Initially, Australia should not send skaters in Vancouver, failing to have qualified. By cons, Australia was the first country to obtain substitute instead, if needed. Lee earned a spot in Vancouver, following the refusal of Israel's Olympic committee to send Tamar Katz, despite his qualifications obtained Nebelhorn Trophy last September.

Following this classification, the Olympic Committee of Israel Tamar Katz withdrew its delegation to Vancouver. Despite the protests of Katz (and more fans around the world), the committee remained firm on its decision and released instead obtained for the women's competition. Cheltzie Lee of Australia and qualified for the Olympics.
