World Championships 2013 - Unveiling of the host city

While I take this Saturday to get over the excellent show of Brian Setzer Orchestra at the Festival de Jazz de Montreal yesterday to do some updates on my blog ...

First .... the ad that I looked forward fell on June 14 last, when the ISU has announced the host cities for the various championships in 2013.

As discussed in my note of 27 April, Canada had a good chance of being the host country and there were four cities in contention: Quebec, Ottawa, London, Winnipeg.

So the city is lucky:
LONDON
is a return to Ontario, since 1984, when Ottawa hosted the world championships which saw Barbara Underhill / Paul Martini be crowned champions with a partner. It is also a return to eastern Canada after three previous editions in the west (1996 Edmonton 2001 Vancouver, Calgary 2006).
If I still pleased to see a world championship that is more accessible for me, despite the disappointment that Quebec was not chosen, I have some fears of having no chance access because of the John Labatt arena is small. With these 9100 seats, which were easily filled at Nationals 2010, it might make difficult task when the world is invited to this great figure skating competition.
Still, it will be a fantastic event. World Championships 2013 will be the competition that will decide the number of seats per country in anticipation of the Olympic Games 2014. Hoping Virtue / Moir, who are from the region remain far ... the atmosphere will be very mad if the darlings of Canada will win a tenth title.
The only criticism I face this choice: why not do it in a place that has a slightly larger arena??
